The original A3 Easter-themed Carpet Page, hand drawn using pigments made by medieval historian Sara Charles.
 
This piece took around 120-160 hours to complete across 2 months as a contemplative process which allowed me to delve into the meaning of the Easter story and it's symbology. 
 
It's inspired by the triumphant pieces of Gospel art of the Hiberno-Saxon tradition of the end of the 1st millenium, such as Lindisfarne Gospels, Book of Kells, Lichfield Gospels and more.
